Judy Ranieri

Judy Ranieri, MA specializes in keeping her finger on the pulse.  Now, as a grandmother, she looks back at her various life experiences and sees how she has been a witness to history in the making.  In the 60s, she was a student at The New School for Social Research, now The New School University, in New York.  She was at school the day a bomb went off on11th Street, the day they discovered the SDS, Students for a Democratic Society, were using the apartment to make bombs.  She saw Eugene McCarthy, every Tuesday night, as he was teaching in the classroom next to the one she was in.

Judy was where it was happening, when it was happening. She met Angela Davis, at Kennedy Airport, two days after her name was taken off the Top 10 Most Wanted List and escorted her to The New School auditorium, where it was packed to capacity.  She witnessed Angela’s people searching the premises, looking for bombs and securing the building before she came on stage to share her life story.

Judy had the opportunity to meet many of the women in the forefront of the Women’s Movement, Bella Abzug, Gloria Steinem, T. Grace Atkinson, and others.

Judy has over 20 years’ experience as a trainer, workshop leader and facilitator.  In the late 90s she decided to add coaching to her other professional skills.  She completed her training at The Coaches Training Institute, San Rafael, CA, when coaching was just beginning to enter the market place.

In 2002, Judy decided to combine her life long love of multiculturalism and spiritual studies by entering the master’s program, at Holy Names University, Sophia Center in Culture and Spirituality. She completed her degree in 2003. She first presented “Grandmother’s Wisdom Box” as part of her course work.  From that, “The Wisdom Box: Getting to the Heart of the Matter” evolved.
