Happy New Year and welcome to the first update on the
Notebook Project.

As of December, 2006, the Notebook Project has more than 225 notebooks in circulation, in 11 different countries.  In addition, it has been written up in two local (San Francisco Bay Area) newspapers and two public readings of the early replies, have been held. The responses have been overwhelming and very touching.  I look forward to sharing some of these writings on the upcoming website.

What’s New?

  • Susan Taylor, co-founder of the Notebook Project is moving on. As Susan said, in her letter of resignation, “In the last month or so, a few opportunities have landed on my doorstep and they are too marvelous to pass up.  What that means is that I have to choose where to spend my time and I’ve chosen Feng Shui and Coaching.  I’ve just landed a teaching position with the West Coast Academy of Feng Shui (in the Bay Area) and I couldn’t be more thrilled! I’ve been wanting to design workshops and write a book for years, and this is my opportunity to fall into the thing I do best.”  I wish Susan all the best in her new endeavors.

  • The Notebook Project now has an international advisory board in place.  As the project continues to grow, it is important that voices around the world be heard.

  • Coming soon…the Notebook Project website…within 2-3 weeks, the site will be live. Check your email for the announcement.

  • First Lady of California, Maria Shriver, participates in the Notebook Project.  She sent a letter of support and a copy of one of her favorite poems, “Continue,” by Maya Angelou.

  • The Notebook Project goes to the United Nations. Through WIN, Women’s Intercultural Networking, I have been able to secure delegate status for the upcoming 51st Session of the Committee on the Status of Women.  I will also be a part of an all day conference, 5WWC, 5th Women’s World Conference, being led by Jean Shinoda Bolen, the day before the UN conference begins.  The Notebook Project will be with me every step of the way.

Please Keep the Notebooks Moving
If for any reason you have decided not to participate in the project or don’t have some one to pass it on to, kindly send it back to me, as the address in the back of the book.  It is important to keep them moving.
